Deborah Barnes, author of “The Chronicles of Zee and Zoey” recently conducted an exclusive interview with George Ricci, the caretaker for the feral cats at the Loews Portofino Resort. The result, “A Voice for the Loews Cats” is well worth the read, as George shares some great insight into the Loews vs. feral cats debate.
Personally, it seems like the longer our economy continues to struggle, the less human and the less caring corporate America gets. It would be nice to see some big American corporation take a stand. Skechers failed. Komen failed. Even the Lions Club can’t be counted on these days. Loews has an opportunity right now to do the right thing. But will they?

You have to wonder if Loews’ intent with the “Feral Cat Issues” page is to actually judge how much support the feral cats have, or to distract everyone from posting on their hotel pages.

Thank you for picking up on my story on the Loews cats and sharing on your site. I agree with you that this is an ideal opportunity for corporate America to take a stand for the right reasons for once.
The more insight we can offer into the circumstances, the better off we are. By interviewing the caretaker who started off of this, George Ricci, it really shed new light onto the story and gave it the personal aspect it needed.
Thank you again for the share.
