It’s over. The Montgomery County Police Reporter has the story here. After one final push to get all the dogs out of the temporary shelter and into rescues, the final dog left the shelter this afternoon. Many thanks to Montgomery County Sheriff’s Deputy Tim Holifield, the Humane Society of the United States, Red Rover, PetSmart Charities, the Montgomery County Fairgrounds Association, and all the rescue groups who stepped up to help out.
If you haven’t already seen it, the Houston Chronicle had a full recap of events leading up to the seizure online last week here. It’s a sad story of contempt, intrigue, and good intentions gone wrong.
