Wonder Pet Expo Dallas is being held at Dallas Market Hall from 9a.m. to 6 p.m. this coming Saturday October 20. The event promotes animal health and wellness through responsible pet care and ownership. There will be shopping, adoptions, prizes, raffles, giveaways, and live entertainment. Live demonstrations include agility by Paws For Applause, as well as demos by the Dallas Police Department K-9 unit and Pet Safe Travel. You can meet the women of the Dallas Devils Roller Derby league, and then sign your pet up for the Most PawSome Pet Pageant. Contest categories include cutest, smartest, and best trick.
This family friendly event something for kids, too. The Bonzi and Pinky Show is an interactive show using children from the audience to "Race to Educate". Kids will race in cars with Bonzi and Pinky. Bonzi was rescued from animal abuse and raises against animal abuse, and Pinky, who was rescued from a puppy mill, races against puppy mills. There is even a meet & greet with the "stars" afterward.
Pets must be on a fixed lead with proof of vaccinations, however, if you don’t have current vaccinations there will be discounted pet vaccinations and micro-chipping available on-site, as well as free nail trims and ear cleaning.
Some of the local groups slated to exhibit include Lone Star Pyrs and Paws, Dallas Dog Life, Texas Humane Legilsation Network, Hound Haven, Texas Coalition for Animal Protection, Kaufman County Animal Awareness Program, Cat Matchers, Forgotten Tails Rescue, and Recycled Poms.
